Terms of service

These terms apply to this website and to furniture we quote, manufacture, supply and install. “We” means Gelux Furniture Company Limited, a company registered in Tanzania (TIN 173-569-041), licensed by Dodoma City Council, with its workshop at Kikuyu, Dodoma.

Where we issue a written quotation, order confirmation or contract for a specific project, that document takes precedence over these general terms for that project.

The photographs on this website show furniture we have designed and built. Timber, veneer, paint and fabric are natural or batch-produced materials, so grain, tone and texture vary between pieces. Images are an honest guide, not an exact colour match.

Product descriptions, dimensions and specifications shown here are indicative. The dimensions and materials that apply to your order are the ones written into your quotation.

The website, its text, photographs and the Gelux name and logo belong to us. You may not copy, republish or use them commercially without our written permission.

Enquiries are free. A quotation sets out the item, dimensions, materials, finish, quantity, price, lead time and delivery terms, and is valid for the period stated on it — after that, material prices may have changed and we may need to requote.

An order becomes binding when you confirm the quotation in writing (including by WhatsApp or email) and any agreed deposit has been received. Production begins from that point, and lead times are counted from that date.

Because most of what we build is made to your specification, any change to dimensions, materials, finish or quantity after production starts may affect both the price and the lead time. We will tell you before acting on a change.

Prices are quoted in Tanzanian Shillings and cover only what the quotation lists. Delivery outside the agreed area, site works, electrical connections, wall fixing into difficult substrates and similar extras are quoted separately.

Unless agreed otherwise, custom and project work requires a deposit before production, with the balance due on completion or before delivery. Goods remain our property until payment has been received in full.

Bulk, institutional and tender pricing is quoted per project. We can supply the documentation procurement offices normally require, including our business licence and TIN certificate.

Lead times are given in good faith based on the order and current workshop load. Delays caused by material supply, power interruption, weather, transport or a change you request are not treated as our default, and we will keep you informed.

Delivery and installation require safe, clear access to the space and an agreed date. If our team cannot access the site, or the space is not ready, an additional visit may be chargeable.

Please check the furniture on delivery. Any transport damage or shortage should be reported to us within 48 hours so we can put it right quickly.

We stand behind our joinery and finishing. If a fault in our workmanship or materials appears in normal use, tell us and we will inspect it and repair, replace or remake the affected part at our cost, on terms confirmed in your order documentation.

This does not cover normal wear, fading from direct sunlight, damage from water, heat, insects, overloading, misuse, transport or assembly by others, or alterations made by anyone other than us.

Solid timber moves with humidity. Follow the care guidance we give on handover — keep furniture out of standing water and direct sun, lift rather than drag, and tighten fittings occasionally.

Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our responsibility in connection with an order is limited to the value of the furniture supplied, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as loss of profit or loss of use.

We are not liable for the content or availability of third-party sites and services linked from this website.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Tanzanian courts. We would always rather resolve a problem directly — please contact us first.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply.
